MN: Aside from artists I would imitate when I was more youthful like John Romita Sr. and John Byrne, there are much of my buddies operating in comics that I would think about inspirations. It’s pretty humbling and challenging too. There’s no shortage of inspiration, though.
JH: I believe it’s fair. I believe it’s both well-earned and well-deserved, but, ultimately, these things are judged by whether or not the story feels genuine. The concern is: Are we attempting to have a truthful, resonating beat within the telling of a story, or are we attempting to stun the reader and rating low-cost points? I believe, in this circumstances, we did the former. We’ll see.
I have been a patron of 2nd Story in Eastpointe, MI for several years. I will continue to go there for several years to come.
